Oct. 23 – At least 300,000 people were evacuated as a dozen wildfires engulf Southern California. With hotter temperatures and stronger winds forecast for Tuesday, the fires could worsen.

    Never seen such a disaster so close. Its really terrible and sad to watch the news over here. Felt really bad when my car got stolen last month. Cant imagine how difficult the pain would be for the people to lose their homes (in thousands)

    Support their Disaster Relief Fund which enables them to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of disaster

    San Diego Foundation
    Support their After-the-Fires fund which will provide food, shelter, housing and address healthcare needs of the victims.

    Saumya’s cousin(in San Diego) was asked to vacate her home since fire was buring a mile away from their house. SCARY!!

    Disasters till it happens right next to us (or to us) is just a news. Now I understand why parents get worried when they hear californian fire or USA hurricane.

    One mile is pretty close. According to the news, the fire embers can fly upto a mile (depending on the wind) and it spreads from there on..
    Scary stuff..
