Brilliant execution. Apprehension -> Exhilaration -> Awe -> Adoration-> Comedy -> Yawn..-> Predictable . This is how I viewed the movie, in that order. Old wine in a totally new bottle . And the bottle is just bubbling with technique. But, just a tad bit too long. The Blue Na’vi with long braids, that would be the envy of most Indian girls and long tails are huge with a soft heart. Good( Na’vi ) triumphs over Evil( Humans). The concept of one universal force has been talked about time and again, in various formats, from Advaita to James Redfield’s “The celestine Prophecy” and Cameron has shown it in his own 3D way. AWESOME. The depth in some of the scenes were too good.

This would mostly have been my MIL’s view: ( in Tamil)
” Paaka nallan dhan irundhadhu. Enna, Kaliyugathula Krishnanoda avataram kamcha madiri. Aana, avaala inom konjam azhaga kaati irukalam. En palli madiri moonjinu theriyala. Idula jadaiyum , vaalum vera..

loosely translated to ” Nice movie. Felt like watching Krishna Avatar in Kaliyuga. But, they could have made them look better. Felt like watching flying lizards.”

Once in a lifetime movie. A must watch.Should be watched in 3D . Get ready for Avatar toys.

people tell me the loop hole is the narration. As much 3D layering the movie has, the script lacks it.

Yes, I would definitely call the narration and script weak . The movie feels like a dream, one you would forget in a few weeks. You just enjoy the moment and it stops right there.

Apart from the 3D and other amazing visual effects, I thought that the movie was a little lengthier and extremely predictable… I “wasn’t connected” and I “couldn’t see” them….When sigourney weaver was carried for her revival, all I could hope was for them to not step on the tails..:)…The depth of field in the opening scene and the jail scene stood out more than some of the other forest scenes, especially in 3D… The climax was very similar to star-wars/narnia/lord-of-the-rings…IMHO, it is a one-time watchable movie… It didn’t live up to the hype that it carried… 10 years of work to get this movie done…give me a break…
